Tyler has been riding since he was four years old, and like many top racers started on the venerable Yamaha PW 50 dirt bike. He began racing Motocross when he was six on the same PW 50. At the tender age of eight, and with his family history of racing, he switched over to the circular and sideway confines of Speedway racing.

Highlights of Tyler’s Amateur career include a total five AMA National titles, 2008 WERA West Heavyweight Twins Superbike Champion and numerous other successes and accolades.

Tyler started riding at age four.

From age six, he started racing local Southern California motocross and grand prix events.

At Age 8, he started to race speedway and placed 3rd in the California State Championship. He also raced the United States versus Sweden Junior Speedway Championship and NMA’s World Mini Grand Prix of motocross in Las Vegas, Nevada.

At the age of 11 he entered and won his first Supermoto event in the 85cc division, and thus started his passion of racing on the pavement. Tyler finished 2nd at the AMA/NASMOTO National Championship on an 85cc machine in the streets of Reno, NV

At the age of twelve, Tyler set the 85cc track record at the Grange Motor Circuit in Southern California.

After a few years of learning to ride the pavement with Supermoto, Tyler began road racing at age 13 aboard a Honda RS125 RR. Also, in 2006 he jumped up to a 450 in Supermoto and won his first ever big bike race.

In 2007, Tyler went on to win two AMA Sports Road Racing National Championships and qualified for the Red Bull Rookie Cup for 2008. This was his first year racing Ducati’s.

Tyler’s 2008 season was filled with strong results. He was featured in Roadracing World Magazine’s “Young Guns” section and won three AMA Grand National Championships. In addition,, he also set track records at the Streets of Willow in the BOTT, Heavyweight class. He also won the 2008 WERA West Heavyweight Twins Superbike Championship.

Tyler’s 2009 professional debut in the AMA Series had its ups and downs. At 16 years of age, he was one of the youngest ever riders to win at Daytona. He also finished 19th overall in the Daytona 200 the same weekend. At the end of the season, Tyler was 4th overall in the AMA West Coast Supersport series. 2009 was a learning year for young Tyler – and he is looking forward to 2010 and coming out swinging!
